Chris Cornell (born Christopher John Boyle; July 20, 1964 – May 17, 2017), Seattle, WA, United States, has been an American singer/songwriter and guitarist. He made the group Soundgarden together with bassist Hiro Yamamoto. They composed a 10 song album for a tribute to Andrew Wood, the singer. Because of tensions in the group Soundgarden split at the zenith of their fame in 1997 and Chris started a solo career.
